A long track record of serving Wyoming
E.E. Lonabaugh
History
The Lonabaugh law office opened in Sheridan in 1890, the same year Wyoming became a state. Ellsworth Eugene (“E.E.”) Lonabaugh passed the Territorial Bar in 1887 and practiced in Lusk, Wyoming before he moved to Sheridan. He practiced law for 50 years, and passed away in 1938. E.E.’s son, Alger W. ("A.W.") Lonabaugh, joined his father in the practice of law, and matched his father’s term by practicing law for 50 years. He passed away in 1971. A.W.’s son, Ellsworth Eugene (“Gene””) Lonabaugh, came home from World War II to attend law school and joined his father in the law firm in Sheridan. Gene also matched the record of 50 years of law practice before his passing in 2012. The firm continues to bear the names of the three generations of Lonabaugh lawyers, and honors the legacy of the three of them practicing for overlapping 50-year periods.
